One Class-One Cause: What’s in a name, Part 1
Without much discussion, we began to call our campaign “One Class-One Cause.” Besides having a certain ring to it, the name struck a deeper chord for the members of The Assembly to End Poverty who came together in Detroit in June to start us down this path. In a series of short essays—discussion papers, actually—we will reflect of the meaning of the name of the campaign and some of the reasons it struck that chord. This is the first in the series.
All action expresses theory. The more conscious we are of our theory, the more planful and powerful our actions will be. Our hope is that the organizers of the campaign will read and discuss these short essays to enrich, expand, and, when necessary, correct our collective understanding of the theories underlying our work.
